On Saturday 23 May Transaero hosted Australia's Biggest Morning Tea. Kyneton Airfield was chosen as the venue, and the Kyneton Aeroclub kindly donated their premises and volunteers to assist with the Cancer Council fundraiser.
Over 20 aircraft arrived during the morning from locations around Victoria including Tyabb, Lethbridge, Kinglake and Ballarat. Many more supporters came by road and all were treated to a hot cup of tea or coffee and home cooked treats for morning tea.
More than eighty cups of tea and coffee were served, and a total of $827.50 was raised for the Cancer Council Victoria.
The event was well supported by members of the Antique Aeroplane Association of Australia (AAAA), Recreational Aviation Australia (RA-Aus), Sports Aircraft Association of Australia (SAAA) and the Kyneton Aeroclub.
Such a diverse gathering of aircraft normally only happens at airshows, so the efforts of all the participants must be commended for taking the time to bring their aircraft out and support a worthy cause.
